Your lawyer in Selva, Mallorca

Castell.law works with international and local clients in Selva, a village at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, near Inca. Many of them come from abroad and want clear advice in their own language and a single lawyer coordinating the whole matter.

From our office in Palma we work across Mallorca. Many procedures can be completed remotely through a power of attorney, so you do not always need to be on the island.

Legal services in Selva

Inheriting a property in Selva

When a property in Selva is inherited, the heirs must accept the inheritance before a notary, pay Inheritance and Gift Tax, generally within six months of the death, and register the property in their name. Where the deceased was a foreign national, the EU Succession Regulation (650/2012) determines which country’s law applies to the estate.

We handle the whole process for families in Spain and abroad: certificates, translations, tax returns and registration. We also advise owners in Selva on making a Spanish will to make things easier for their heirs.

Relocating to Selva: NIE and residency

If you are moving to Selva, the first steps are usually obtaining your NIE, registering on the padrón at the town council and, depending on your nationality, registering as an EU citizen or applying for a visa or residence permit, such as the non-lucrative visa or the digital nomad visa.

We prepare the documents, book the appointments and accompany you through each procedure, so that you can settle in without delays.

Every matter is led by one lawyer who supervises each phase and brings in the firm’s specialists in property, planning, tax, corporate, immigration or criminal law when they are needed. We work in English, Spanish and German.
